Thank you all for coming out for our first two meetings this semester! It was great seeing old and new faces in the new room! While we don't have any photos from our first meeting, we do have some photos from our spaghetti tower buildoff that we'd like to share!

Buildoff in progress A particularly clever tower Another view of the room The winners!

Juliana looks very enthused about winning!

In case we unloaded too much information at our meetings directly, here's a rundown of what we announced.

  • The mentee application is open right now. If you are on the physics major mailing list, you should have received an email from Kaitlyn about the program and its application. There is also our post here which has the same information. If you wish to be a mentee, please fill out this application by September 24th at 11:59PM (Eastern).
  • A Wolfram representative will be conducting a Mathematica Seminar on Thursday, October 5th at 2:30PM (Eastern) in room 940. This is a first-come first-serve seating situation open to everyone in the department, so if you want to learn the ins and outs of our dearly beloved computer algebra platform, you're going to get there early!
  • We are restarting the Undergraduate Lecture Series wherein professors sit down with undergrads and talk about their research! As we nail down a time slot, if you want any particular professor to talk about their work, send one of us an email!
  • Patrick is setting up a lending library! If you want to borrow books from 1014 at some point, please send Patrick an email with the subject line being "Add me to the library". This will register you as a lender! Furthermore, until further notice do not remove anything from Meyer 333a without our (the SPS e-board's) permission.
