Do I have to be female-identifying to join?
Nope! Our goal is to help cultivate an all-inclusive community within the NYU Department of Physics, everyone is welcome. Feel free to sign up for our mailing list to learn about events and how you can get involved.
Help! Something happened, and I'm not sure who to talk to. Do I need to be a member of WiPhy to contact support?
Of course not, we're here to help anyone who might need it. We understand discrimination in academic environments is not limited to being gender-based, and even those who are generally within the majority can be subjected to harassment. If you or someone you know experiences any form of harassment on campus, please call public safety at (212) 998-2222, visit NYU's Safety and Security info page, or contact us if you need someone to talk to. Don't be afraid to speak up, we're here to listen.
When are meetings?
Meetings are typically held bi-monthly in NYU's Department of Physics at 726 Broadway. You must be affiliated with NYU Physics in order to gain access to the building.
Due to safety concerns brought on by COVID-19, all meeting for the remainder of the 2020-2021 Academic Year will be held remotely over zoom. Attendance of meetings requires an NYU account with zoom. Please sign up for the mailing list if you would like to receive information on how to attend the next meeting.
