The NYU Undergraduate Physics Expo will host undergraduate physics majors for a one-day conference with the mission of work-shopping research projects and promoting great career paths. Attendees will participate in a poster competition by presenting their research to an NYU Physics faculty member who professes in the undergraduate's field of interest. A winner of the poster competition meets excellent critera, and will be awarded with recognition. It is also the mission of this conference to build a strong undergraduate community. The SPS mixer, where attendees can engage with the NYU Chapter of the Society of Physics Students (found here), will be one of the many opportunities for undergraduates to connect and network.

Attendees of the Expo who have also done undergraduate research are encouraged to participate in the poster competition. The experience of presenting research to an informed audience is vital to the career paths of physicists. For this reason, the organizers of the Expo have made the poster competition a central focus of the conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to explain their study and present their findings to an NYU physics professor pioneering research in the same field. Research projects will be rated according to criteria developed by NYU faculty, and exceptional presentations will be recognized. An overall winner will be determined and recognized at the end of the day. Meet the NYU Physics faculty here.
