Open Session for the ATLAS Physics Workshop of the Americas @ NYU, Monday, August 3
Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to announce to the broader particle physics community that the 2009 ATLAS Physics Workshop of the Americas will have a full day open to non-ATLAS members. The workshop is jointly organized by US, Canada, and South America and is being hosted at NYU.
The open session will be on Monday, August 3, followed by a reception at the New York Academy of Sciences on the 40th floor of 7 World Trade Center.
The open session should be interesting to both theorists and experimentalists. The program includes am overview of the LHC status; the readiness of the ATLAS detector, trigger, computing, and analysis systems; recent results from the Tevatron and their impact on LHC; and some invited presentations on recent developments in dark matter, possible surprises from the hidden valley, state of the art in Monte Carlo tools, and prospects for the first year.
Registration for the open session including the reception at NYAS is $50. You can find a registration page here:
