2009 ATLAS Physics Workshop of the Americas @ NYU

The NYU residence hall is located at 120 East 12th Street (between 2nd and 3rd Ave.) -- see the map below. The easiest way to get to the residence hall with your luggage is by taxi, but you can save money by either taking an airport bus or subway from the airport into Manhattan. For more details, you may wish to consult NYU's travel information. We've also put together some specific workshop directions for the residence hall and the reception at the New York Academy of Sciences.

To confirm the dates we have for your stay, check the information attendees page. If you want to change your dates, please re-register and we will try to accommodate. Note, you can find your registration info by searching your inbox for Subject: "REGISTRATION ATLAS WORKSHOP".

Check-In Residents can check in between 3:00 PM & 8:00 PM. All residents will receive a temporary ID card upon checking in. Residents will be required to present this ID card upon entry into the residence hall. (If you come in later than 8PM, you will still be able to check-in, however, please be advised that a live-in staff member will need to be paged by the security guard to check you in. So you might have to wait for a bit.)

Check-Out Residents must check out of NYU Housing and turn in their room key by 11:00 AM.

Payment Payment for your stay will be collected during registration and check-in at the conference. You will not pay the NYU residence hall directly. If you have not payed and would like to by credit card click here.

Please note:

Linen: A packet of linen and bedding is provided to each resident at check-in. The linen packet includes a small towel, sheet set, pillow, and blanket.

Security: Each residence hall has 24 hour security provided by the NYU Department of Public Safety. All residents will receive a temporary ID card upon checking in. Residents will be required to present this ID card upon entry into the residence hall.

Reception Desk:Each residence hall has a reception desk, which serves as the primary contact point for information, check-in, check-out, maintenance concerns, messages, and emergencies.

The rooms are basic dorm rooms arranged as a small suite (2 rooms per suite) and they are air conditioned. The suites have a common area and a shared bathroom (not a hall bathroom, just for the suite). All rooms have two twin beds (if you choose a single room, the bed is empty). NYU will not house anyone under the age of 17. These are totally new facilities, and the rooms are air conditioned. More information can be found here.

Below is a map that shows the path between the dorms and the Kimmel Center.
