PhD 1977
Lee W. Schumann received an A.B. degree majoring in physics from the
University of California, Berkeley, in 1967 and a Ph.D. degree in
experimental plasma physics from New York University in 1977. He has been
previously employed as a postdoctoral fellow at the NBS/University of
Colorado Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics and at Science
Applications International Corporation. Over the years he has done
research and published papers in several areas of pure and applied physics.
He is presently employed as a staff Senior Engineering Specialist in the
Electro-Oprical Systems Department at the Aerospace Corp., where his
interests are concentrated on visible and infrared electro-optical systems
engineering. Dr. Schumann is active in the Society of Photo-optic
Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) and was the recent keynote speaker at the
46th Annual SPIE International Symposium on Optical Science and Technology,
Conference on Imaging Spectrometry VII.
